About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Academic Librarian to lead our University College Library team. As a key member of the library community, you will be responsible for developing services that meet the current and emerging needs of administration, faculty, researchers, and students.

Salary and Benefits:

This position is anticipated to be filled at the Librarian II or III level, with a minimum salary of $79,720 (LIB II) or $102,023 (LIB III), depending on qualifications. We offer generous benefits packages to all employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of the library, including budgeting and public service.
  • Develop services that support the needs of the University College community.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to enhance awareness about library resources and services.
  • Support faculty with digital scholarship, research data management, and open access requirements.
  • Provide instruction and tutorials to students and faculty.
  • Build and maintain library collections to meet the evolving scholarly needs of the college's students and faculty.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in library and information studies from an accredited program.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity, anti-racism, and accessibility.
  • Proven experience providing research and academic support to students and faculty.
  • Demonstrated administrative, managerial, and project management experience.
  • Experience providing library instruction and knowledge of effective pedagogical approaches.

Location:

This position is based at the University of Toronto's St. George campus in downtown Toronto.
