Procurement Specialist

Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for full lifecycle procurement activities for a portfolio of medium-to-high complexity procurement packages for the Canadian Surface Combatant program, inclusive of systems, equipment, and materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform requisite research and analysis to develop an optimal sourcing strategy across the assigned portfolio.
- Execute stakeholder management activities to ensure accurate, timely, and clear advice is provided to the business to support progress and schedule adherence.
- Perform full life cycle supplier management activities, including pre-qualification, supplier engagement, supplier negotiations, and supplier performance management.
- Ensure on-time material delivery and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) adherence.
- Develop and implement Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP).
- Manage these sourcing events to meet cost management and scheduling expectations.
- Perform a full suite of contract management activities for the assigned portfolio, including contract preparation, executive briefings, participation in and/or leading negotiations, and post-award contract administration.
- Fulfill Purchase Order management requirements, including invoice review and attestation to ensure first-time match invoice management.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- In-depth understanding of end-to-end supply chain and procurement activities, typically acquired through practical, on-the-job experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in shipbuilding, aerospace/defence, heavy manufacturing, construction, or relatable industries.
- Demonstrated ability to complete assigned procurement tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information and maintain high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
Security Clearance
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
