Job Summary

As a key member of the PAOC team, the Spiritual Leader will be responsible for facilitating spiritual growth and discipleship within the church community. This will involve developing and implementing small group ministries, Bible studies, and other educational programs that nurture the unique giftings of people and provide leadership that trains, equips, and empowers them to serve within the church community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the congregation, including visiting the sick, counselling those in need, and offering support during times of crisis.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, biblically-based weekly sermons during worship services and on special occasions and events.
  • Collaborate with team members and staff to plan and lead meaningful and spiritually enriching services.
  • Work with church leadership and staff to establish and execute a vision and strategic plan for the church's growth and development.
  • Engage and build relationships within the local community, participating in outreach and mission activities and collaborating with other organizations to address community needs.
  • Oversee the administration and management of church operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and personnel management in the church office.
  • Mentor, supervise, and support church staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment with robust leadership development.

Requirements

  • A deep-rooted faith, vibrant prayer life, and strong commitment to their relationship with God.
  • A deep commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, particularly as evidenced by a strong and sustained desire to see people embrace Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures and a commitment to sound doctrine, including traditional Pentecostal distinctives.
  • Exceptional communication and preaching skills with the ability to connect with all generations and believers from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for discipleship, spiritual growth, and empowering every member of Christ's church to reach the community.
  • Ability to lead and oversee ministry staff, boards, and volunteers, training and empowering them to minister to others.
  • Ability to conduct community outreach and evangelism, organize events, and manage multiple priorities.

Education and Experience

  • Current PAOC ordained credential holder.
  • Bachelor's degree in theology, religious studies, or related field.
  • Ministry experience, preferably including functioning as a lead pastor.
