Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst, Quality Assurance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of digital solutions being implemented, including performing Quality Assurance services and executing functional, integration, interface, and regression testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess project requirements and provide estimates for testing tasks and deliverables with some assistance.
  • Lead testing efforts for smaller projects as requested.
  • Create test scenarios and data for testing.
  • Write and execute test cases.
  • Track test planning and execution in the application lifecycle management tool and provide reporting when requested.
  • Document results and provide updates to project teams and management as requested.
  • Identify, document, and monitor test results and enhancements from third-party vendors.
  • Motivate other team members to achieve higher goals and improve the impact of technology initiatives.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior team members on test case planning and execution approach.
  • Accountable for ensuring the quality of digital solutions being implemented, including performing Quality Assurance services and executing functional, integration, interface, and regression testing.
  • Conduct a variety of tests to assess the quality and efficacy of a range of applications in preparation of deployment and through operations.
  • Collaborate with team members (developers, quality assurance, and business analysts, project and product managers) to review available documentation and build a common understanding of the target state of the system under test.
  • Engage different programs in the organization and champion QA best practices.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • QA Certification with ISTQB or QAI, ITIL (or similar substitute) is an asset.
  • Agile Certification is an asset.
  • AWS and/or Azure Cloud certification is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, Iterative, etc.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance/testing processes, best practices, techniques, and tools for different types of testing (functional, GUI, API/web service, integration, regression, performance, hardware, deployment, manual, and automated testing).
  • Knowledge and understanding of how User Stories, Business Requirements Definition (BRD), Data Models, data mappings, and design are used to support QA testing.
  • Working knowledge of test case design, development, and execution.
  • Working knowledge of defect management and tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TFS).
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation, regulations (specifically the Protection of Personal Health Information Act, Ontario 2004) and OH policies, procedures, guidelines, and communication material relevant to the protection of confidential information.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Health systems and business environment.
  • Knowledge of specific software/system components being tested.
  • Practical knowledge of a scripting language (such as PowerShell or Python) to automate testing tasks is an asset.
  • Experience with an ALM tool is an asset.
  • Experience with automation tools (such as Selenium) and performance/load tools (such as JMeter) is an asset.
  • Experience with various RDBMS DB technologies such as RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server). NoSQL DBs (DynamoDB, MongoDB) is an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key cloud concepts for one of the major cloud providers (such as Azure or AWS) is an asset.
