Salon Manager

Job Summary

As a Salon Manager at SmartStyle Hair Salon, you will be responsible for leading a team of stylists and ensuring the success of our salon. This is a unique opportunity to #UnleashYourPotential as a leader and mentor, helping your staff increase their clientele and the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and tools for success, managing all salon operations.
  • Lead by example, helping your staff increase their clientele and the business.
  • Focus on the profitability of the salon and teach stylists the ins and outs of business.
  • Set the example and provide all hair care services offered by SmartStyle Hair Salon, ensuring the highest quality for each guest.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to bring out the best in salon employees, creating a positive work environment.
  • Hire, recruit, train, and handle conflicts and client complaints with ease and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Lead by example, with customer service at your core, and resolve challenges with professionalism.
  • Bring out the best in others by being the best yourself, training, developing your team, creating a positive work environment, providing guidance on business and technical competency matters, and keeping the salon's bottom line in mind.
  • Have a current cosmetology or barber license as required by state/provincial regulations.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Be tech savvy and able to perform administrative tasks, such as closing out the system at the end of the day.
  • Have basic math skills and be able to read and write.
  • Be available to travel to mandatory meetings and training sessions, including overnight travel.

Physical Requirements

  • Have good eyesight to observe a guest's hair, including close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Be comfortable with standing, lifting, and reaching for the stars, occasionally lifting 10-25 lbs.
  • Be comfortable with fragrances and chemicals used in treatments.
