Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a Technical Artist, you will play a key role in supporting our outsource teams and collaborating with vendors to improve workflows and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Outsource Teams: Provide technical expertise to support tool deployment, asset creation, performance budgets, and guidelines in Frostbite and DCC workflows.
- Collaborate with Vendors: Work with outsourcing vendors, technical artists, tools engineers, and rendering engineers to improve workflows and tools to scale asset management and production capability.
- Integrate RAW Content: Help teams integrate work from RAW into Source and establish necessary testing, process, or tools improvements.
- Pipeline Optimization: Identify improvements to pipelines, workflows, and tools to serve product goals and make updates to improve efficiency, quality of life, and usability.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate performance and budgets of content created in partnership with outsourcing vendors and support to surface issues and make content efficient.
- Technical Expertise: Exhibit a high degree of technical knowledge about current state-of-the-industry content workflows, tools, and pipelines.
Requirements:
- Technical Artist Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Technical Artist working on tools and pipelines.
- Pipeline Development: Developed tools and pipelines on at least 1-2 shipped console/PC titles.
- Architecture Knowledge: Understand architecture for complex tools and pipelines with a focus on content creator-friendly workflows and scalability.
- Collaboration Skills: Love collaborating with different audiences to partner in technology and tool development: content creators, technical artists, tools, and rendering SEs.
- Pipeline Experience: Experience with at least one of the following pipelines: environments, character, rigging, animation, or asset management.
- Real-Time Game Content: Understand real-time game content and the requirements for these to be efficient and high quality.
- Programming Skills: Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Python, C#, C++.
- Art Package Expertise: Acquired expert knowledge in a few 2D and 3D art packages and workflows: i.e. Maya, Photoshop, Substance, or Houdini.
