Job Overview

The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of a contract-specific Project Quality Plan (PQP) in nuclear construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the project management team to ensure that quality standards are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive PQP aligned with contractual requirements and industry standards.
  • Review and approve subcontractor quality plans to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Lead and mentor quality staff to execute the PQP effectively and provide access to necessary quality resources.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with the Client team, reinforcing a nuclear safety culture.
  • Closely interpret quality standards and regulatory requirements, defining implementation strategies.
  • Collaborate with district quality management to ensure consistent implementation across the company.
  • Investigate project-related issues through causal analysis and coordinate QA audits.
  • Analyze findings to identify trends and develop mitigation strategies to remove or reduce potential risks.
  • Engage actively in operation planning sessions, providing input from a Quality standpoint and ensuring Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) are developed.
  • Ensure all Quality documentation required for project turnover is completed, compliant with contractual requirements.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Quality Management in nuclear, civil construction, oil and gas, or power.
  • Proven background as a QA/QC Inspector in large-scale projects.
  • Experience managing a team of quality inspectors.
  • Highly motivated individual with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to achieve quality results.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to ensure no harm occurs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in varied climates and environments.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate as business demands.
