About the Role:
RhynoCare is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering excellent nursing and personal care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Nursing Care: To provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RN.
- Utilize Sound Nursing Practice Principles: To ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
- Ensure Timely and Accessible Admissions: To ensure a timely and accessible admission for the residents including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
- Responsible for Resident Transfers and Discharges: To ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Ensure Safekeeping of Drugs and Narcotics: To ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Nursing Care: To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of the residents.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Certifications: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
- Medical Clearance: Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests).
- Background Checks: Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check, Clear Criminal Record check.
