Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer Supervisor to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of our hospital's mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate the work of Power Engineers and other designated staff, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Review and Interpret work requests and consult with user departments to determine specifications and project requirements.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance and repairs on heating, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning, gas, compressed air, medical gases, and other mechanical systems throughout the hospital.
  • Ensure Compliance with various codes and regulations related to power engineering and safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the Purchase of related supplies and equipment, and maintain an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools.
  • Complete Related Reports and records, including operating inefficiencies, equipment breakdowns, and safety hazards.
Requirements
  • Certificate of Competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
  • Five Years' Recent Experience in a related field, including two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Ability to Communicate Effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to Deal with Others Effectively.
  • Physical Ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to Supervise and lead a team.
  • Ability to Read and Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to Organize Work and prioritize tasks.
