We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal health outcomes.

About the Role

The LPN position involves applying the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health within a people-centered care approach. You will work to full scope of practice, engage in ongoing education, and maintain competency congruent with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics, Competency Profile for Licensed Practical Nurses in Manitoba, and the Regulated Health Professions Act.

Responsibilities
  • Apply the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health.
  • Work to full scope of practice and engage in ongoing education to maintain competency.
  • Demonstrate ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment that supports quality services, quality improvement, and staff empowerment.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Use analytical and inquiring approach to problem-solving while contributing to program improvement.
  • Lead and make decisions autonomously.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice, Competency Profile for Licensed Practical Nurses in Manitoba, and Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and make decisions autonomously.
  • Able to effectively perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position.
Benefits

Working Conditions

The selected candidate will be required to complete a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check. Additionally, all Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
