Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Specialist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging services.

About the Role
  • Perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology.
  • Prepare patients for examination, review patient history, explain procedures, and obtain ultrasound images of diagnostic quality.
  • Take initial action to resolve abnormal findings and assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention, and patient management.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, perinatologists, and other medical staff on special procedures as required.
Requirements
  • Completion of an extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program.
  • Active registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • At least one year of full-time post-certification ultrasound experience, preferably in a Tele-Ultrasound site setting.
Compensation

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
