Job Summary

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join its Global Functions Technology team in Bedford, Canada.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing QE estimates and delivering on the book of work within estimated timelines. You will determine testing scope and approach based on user stories and requirements, support and execute product testing aligned to RBC QE standards and process, document test results and log defects, communicate defects and status reports for stakeholders, manage test cases, defects, and reporting in JIRA, Confluence, and qTest, participate in Scrum Ceremonies, develop, improve, and maintain automated test scripts using RBC's Test Automation Framework, and identify and report concerns around functionality, performance, and other inconsistencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide QE estimates and deliver on the book of work within estimated timelines
  • Determine testing scope and approach based on user stories and requirements
  • Support and execute product testing aligned to RBC QE standards and process
  • Document test results and log defects
  • Communicate defects and status reports for stakeholders
  • Manage test cases, defects, and reporting in JIRA, Confluence, and qTest
  • Participate in Scrum Ceremonies
  • Develop, improve, and maintain automated test scripts using RBC's Test Automation Framework
  • Identify and report concerns around functionality, performance, and other inconsistencies
Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have 2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering with a focus on automated testing in various environments. You should have experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Robot Framework, SoapUI or ReadyAPI, Postman, Selenium, UFT/Lean UFT/RestAssured/, and TestNG. Additionally, you should have experience with development/scripting languages, such as Pandas, Numpy, and Python, and 3+ years of experience with Python. You should also have experience with database technologies and testing, such as MongoDB, DB2, Oracle, SQL, IMS, Teradata, with strong SQL skills, and experience in the Agile Methodology, JIRA, and Confluence. A demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills, is essential.

Salary:

$105,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience.
