Company Overview:

Vertex is actively seeking six full-time permanent and/or seasonal Forest Operations Specialists to become part of our dedicated team. This role entails fieldwork in various regions, concentrating on forestry operational and planning activities. We are in search of individuals who are professional, diligent, and committed to enhancing the success of our organization.

Qualifications:

  • 0 - 3 years of relevant experience is required
  • Professional Designation in Alberta or eligibility as a RPFT is preferred
  • Field experience in pertinent assessments is advantageous
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations is desirable
  • Experience in forest operations and planning is beneficial
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ARC GIS Online is essential
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are crucial

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting GPS field data collection and surveys
  • Creating GIS maps
  • Identifying hazardous trees and monitoring utility lines
  • Engaging in technical writing and report generation
  • Participating in field shifts lasting up to 10 days

Location:

  • Office based in Sherwood Park, Alberta
  • Fieldwork across Northern and Central Alberta
