About the Job

Flynn Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Glass Installation Specialist to join our team. As a Glass Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for installing glass products, including windows, doors, and mirrors, in commercial and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Assembly: Determine the type of glass, frames, and materials required for each installation. Measure, mark, and cut glass to fit specific requirements. Position and secure panes in frames, and assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors, or glass products.
  • Hardware Installation: Install door, window, and other hardware, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
  • Instruction and Training: Instruct apprentices on glass installation techniques and best practices.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Repair glass doors and other glass structures, and assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment.
  • Work at Heights: Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installations.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in glass installation or a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work, handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
