Pipeline Technician Job Description

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Pipeline Technician to join our team in Surrey, BC. As a key member of our FB Bullet team, you will be responsible for the preparation, assembly, and installation of pipelines in accordance with project specifications and guidelines.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and a thorough understanding of industry-standard best practices and procedures. You will work collaboratively with our team to efficiently meet project requirements and contribute to our family-oriented culture that values flexibility, communication, growth, and respect.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, assemble, and install pipelines as required
  • Interpret and understand blueprints, specifications, drawings, schedules, and costing reports
  • Join and align pipes to prepare for welding, cementing, or sealing
  • Monitor back-fill of pipe bedding to ensure proper haunch support
  • Knowledge of Quality Control requirements for job site and effectively aid the Foreman
  • Strong understanding of Forbes Safe Work Practices for common work tasks
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials as required
  • Pave and rake asphalt as per specifications
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in civil construction is required
  • Working knowledge of laser level and locate equipment is an asset
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Valid Safety Certifications including Ground Disturbance, First Aid, H2S Alive, are an asset
  • Ability to work in the field/site with travel and work hour flexibility
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions
