Addiction Service Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Addiction Service Worker to join our team at Sault Area Hospital. As a key member of our Addictions Services department, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with clients to assess their needs and develop personalized service plans.
- Provide education and support to help clients overcome addiction and achieve long-term recovery.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community agencies to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Conduct thorough assessments and screenings to identify client needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and statistical reports.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in addiction treatment and recovery.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement and risk management activities to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Minimum two-year diploma in a health or social sciences field.
- Experience working in addictions services, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and First Aid certification.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with spreadsheet development.
- Strong human relations skills, including empathy, sensitivity, and motivational techniques.
- Experience with biopsychosocial assessment and court diversion processes.
- Knowledge of Ontario Withdrawal Management Standards, addiction, housing, and mental health services.
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities, such as the Stages of Change and Biopsychosocial Model.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, and Personal Health Information Protection Act.
