We are currently seeking an experienced Corporate Paralegal to join our Montreal office. This role will involve supporting our Corporate Services team, working on a range of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, and corporate reorganizations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. They will also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients, colleagues, and managers at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assisting in the preparation of corporate documents, including articles of incorporation, organizational charts, and resolutions.
  2. Conducting research and analysis on corporate law and regulatory matters.
  3. Providing support to lawyers and other professionals in the preparation of complex transactions.
  4. Coordinating the maintenance of minute books and other corporate records.
  5. Communicating with clients and stakeholders regarding corporate matters.
  6. Participating in the development of knowledge management resources and best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 to 7 years' experience in a Corporate Services Department.
  • Excellent drafting skills in French and English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • College diploma in Paralegal Technology or equivalent diploma.
  • Knowledge of legal procedures, statutes, and regulations applicable to commercial and corporate law.
  • A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with clients directly in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities to meet necessary deadlines.
  • Advanced computer skills; proficient with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficiency with Athennian is an asset.
