Black & McDonald is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising staff and subcontractors working on various Black & McDonald FMO accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for facility operations, including work order management and staff supervision.
  • Collaborate with customer stakeholders, supervisors, and EHS to develop work plans and complete risk assessments.
  • Ensure all training and certification requirements for staff are met, and perform daily site walk-throughs and weekly inspections of active worksites.
  • Formulate action plans for facility operational and emerging issues, and recommend solutions to operational issues.
  • Supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff, and participate in customer meetings and audits as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety, security, and quality assurance programs, and provide technical guidance to direct reports.
  • Support the preparation of Quarterly Business Reviews, and participate in vendor performance meetings and audits.
Competency Requirements
  • Familiarity with software packages and management tools, including JDE, DSI, and CMMS Dashboards.
  • Advanced analytical and time management skills, with a strong understanding of facility management processes and standards.
  • Outstanding knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and proven customer service skills.
  • Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends, including holidays, as required to support operational requirements.
Education Requirements
  • A university degree or equivalent post-secondary degree in a field of study related to the job requirements.
  • Experience in the facilities industry may substitute for post-secondary education requirements.
Work Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a Building Operations position.
  • A trade license may be an asset, and FMP/FMA designation may be considered an asset.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
  • Able to travel within the London, ON area, and obtain reliability or secret clearance.
