Job Overview

As a Senior Estimator with Sterling Homes Edmonton, you will play a key role in monitoring budgets and managing the day-to-day functions of the Estimating team. You will provide estimating expertise to support the Construction and Sales teams.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing production operations for Single-Family homes.
  • Reviewing and distributing job files, ensuring timely completion.
  • Evaluating offers and sending tenders to trade partners and suppliers.
  • Managing scheduling and estimating software users and system functionality.
  • Reviewing plans, conducting model estimates, and generating material and labor options.
  • Providing guidance to site and office staff, promoting a collaborative environment.
  • Preparing change requests, coordinating with Purchasing, Production, and Construction teams on project changes.
  • Reviewing invoices and monitoring expenditures to assist management with budget control.
  • Preparing budgets for models, sales, and jobs as required, identifying cost savings measures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in residential construction, preferably in production or estimating.
  • Satisfactory verification of a criminal record check.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint) and estimating software (SupplyPro, BuildPro, NewStar).
