At Halton Healthcare, we're seeking a skilled Perioperative Nurse to join our team.
Job Summary
We're looking for a qualified Perioperative Nurse who will be responsible for scrubbing, circulating, and assisting the anaesthetist in a variety of surgical specialties. This role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Perform perioperative care for patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and technologies
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and excellence
- Meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting
Requirements
- Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS Certification
- Successful completion of post-graduate OR course
- Perioperative Certification or willingness to obtain
- Recent OR experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and make sound decisions quickly
- Good team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record
- Previous leadership experience
