About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled and dedicated Unit Aide to join our healthcare team. As a Unit Aide, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order, stock, and maintain all necessary supplies and equipment to meet patient needs.
  • Understand and adhere to infection control principles to prevent the spread of illness.
  • Provide indirect and direct support for patient care, working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A Grade XII education.
  • Previous clinic aide experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
  • The ability to understand and adhere to unit and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions.
  • Understanding of the importance of cleanliness in a hospital setting.
  • Able to establish good relationships with people.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
