Job Title: Supervising Portfolio Manager

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Portfolio Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Private Investment Counsel team, you will be responsible for providing expert investment advice and portfolio management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage a team of Associate Advising Representatives (AARs) to ensure they are providing high-quality investment advice and portfolio management services to clients.
  • Develop and implement investment strategies and asset allocation models for clients based on their individual needs and goals.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and provide recommendations for adjustments to ensure clients' investment objectives are being met.
  • Collaborate with other teams within Scotiabank to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and economic conditions to provide informed investment advice to clients.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a related field (e.g. business, economics, accounting, finance).
  • CFA designation required, CAIA designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in discretionary investment management, including financial analysis and portfolio management.
  • Strong knowledge of investment products and services, including mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and other investment vehicles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
