Hydroelectric Proposal Manager

As a key member of the ANDRITZ Hydro Canada team, the Proposal Manager will play a crucial role in preparing technical and commercial proposals for hydroelectric projects. This includes leading a team of specialists to ensure a complete and competitive proposal is delivered to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and marketing, with experience in the hydroelectric industry. They will be responsible for defining the bid structure, creating a proposal schedule, and facilitating decision-making within the proposal team. Additionally, they will negotiate partnerships, establish a winning strategy, and ensure all essential proposal elements have owners and are tracked based on the proposal schedule.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, with a minimum of five years of experience in sales and/or marketing in the hydroelectric industry. They will also have demonstrated success in winning orders and building relationships with customers, as well as familiarity with commercial and contractual specifications. Project management skills, effective communication, and leadership abilities are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, enthusiastic, and dynamic, with excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to travel occasionally.

Key responsibilities of the Proposal Manager include:

  • Leading the proposal team to ensure a complete and competitive proposal is delivered to clients
  • Defining the bid structure and creating a proposal schedule
  • Facilitating decision-making within the proposal team
  • Negotiating partnerships and establishing a winning strategy
  • Ensuring all essential proposal elements have owners and are tracked based on the proposal schedule
  • Representing the proposal and the proposal team with local management and the customer
  • Submitting the offer and participating in client negotiations
