Horticultural Assistant

DUTCHMASTER NURSERIES LTD is seeking a skilled Horticultural Assistant to join their team on a seasonal basis. As a key member of our nursery staff, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and quality of our plants.

• Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants to promote healthy growth and development
• Plant bulbs and seeds, ensuring optimal growing conditions
• Pot and re-pot plants to maintain soil quality and prevent root bound
• Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings to expand our plant offerings
• Apply fertilizers to promote strong plant growth and vitality
• Monitor plants for signs of insect or disease damage, taking prompt action to mitigate any issues
• Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs with care and precision
• Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens with attention to detail

• Outdoor work site environment with exposure to various weather conditions
• Wet/damp environments during certain times of the year
• Hot temperatures during peak seasons

• Repetitive tasks requiring focus and attention to detail
• Handling heavy loads and physical demands associated with horticultural work

Ranging from $45,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
