Horticultural Assistant

DUTCHMASTER NURSERIES LTD is seeking a skilled Horticultural Assistant to join our team for a seasonal opportunity.

This is a physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in various weather conditions. As a Horticultural Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants, planting bulbs and seeds, potting and re-potting plants, transplanting seedlings or rooted cuttings, applying fertilizers, and reporting signs of insect or disease damage.

• Prune trees, shrubs, and plants to maintain their health and appearance
• Plant bulbs and seeds in designated areas
• Pot and re-pot plants to ensure proper growth and development
• Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings to new locations
• Apply fertilizers to promote plant growth and health
• Monitor plants for signs of insect or disease damage and report any issues

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of horticultural practices and techniques. You should also be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Additionally, you must be able to lift heavy loads and work at heights.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of $45,000 per year, paid bi-weekly.
