Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Mortgage Underwriting Intern to join our team at Equitable Bank. As a Commercial Mortgage Underwriting Intern, you will assist the Commercial Mortgage Underwriting team with the underwriting of CMHC-insured commercial mortgage loans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loan Analysis and Underwriting: Analyze and underwrite CMHC-insured commercial mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with the company's established lending guidelines and procedures.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with external contacts (origination partners) and internal contacts (funders, managers, administrators) to ensure mortgage loan transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Time Management and Organization: Manage your deal flow to meet prescribed deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with various credit-related and administrative duties such as reporting, pipeline management, and ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Currently enrolled in a University or College program (Finance, Business, Accounting, or Economics is preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
