Crop Supervisor Job Description

Mastronardi Produce, a leading greenhouse vegetable company, is seeking a skilled Crop Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our cultivation facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating policies and procedures for the cultivation department, managing a team of growers, and ensuring the highest quality produce is delivered to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance to greenhouse personnel on crop maintenance and care.
  • Develop and implement new production plans to maximize yields and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and food safety standards.
  • Manage daily crop care efforts to optimize production and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to forecast production and develop strategies to meet customer demands.
  • Work closely with the cultivation department to develop and improve processes, and supervise post-harvest activities.
  • Ensure post-harvest work areas are clean and maintained according to company standards.
  • Manage pest pressure using integrated pest management techniques.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Track and Trace program with the Compliance Officer.
  • Ensure adherence to Work Safe Practices.
  • Schedule manufacturing duties for all stages of growth.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three years' experience in a related agricultural field required.

  • Innovative, analytical, and result-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Independent and able to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good technical skills, knowledge, and capabilities in packaging technology and applications.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
Working Conditions:
  • Greenhouse environment with controlled temperature and background noise.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Travel required between greenhouse locations.
