Slitter Operator

We are seeking a skilled Slitter Operator to join our team at MetalRecruiters. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and safe operation of advanced machinery, adhering to work order specifications and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and maintain cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing.
- Set up equipment safely and according to set up note specifications.
- Process set up notes in accordance with work order specifications.
- Verify product compliance with set up note specifications and record measurements.
- Communicate with sales representatives regarding order changes or clarifications.
- Provide recommendations to improve manufacturing processes.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Enter/delete material identification tags as per written instructions.
- Balance workload and collaborate with the team as needed.
- Conduct general clean-up activities.
- Assist in packaging material according to work instructions and work orders.
- Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.
- Operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements.
- Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming material.
- Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.
- Perform quality checks during machine operation.
- Complete production/productivity logs and reconcile production data.
- Complete job responsibilities prioritizing safety.
- Train others when required.
- Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality.
- High school diploma/GED.
- 1 to 2 years of machine operation experience.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Basic math skills.
- Use of handheld measuring tools.
- Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metal's industry.
- Previous forklift experience.
- Computer literate.
