Slitter Operator

We are seeking a skilled Metal Slitter Operator to join our team at Metalrecruiters. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and safe operation of advanced machinery, adhering to work order specifications and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to ensure efficient and safe material handling.
- Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Set up equipment safely and according to set up note specifications to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Process set up notes in accordance with work order specifications to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Verify product compliance with set up note specifications and record measurements to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Communicate with sales representatives regarding order changes or clarifications to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Provide recommendations to improve manufacturing processes to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Enter/delete material identification tags as per written instructions to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Balance workload and collaborate with the team as needed to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
- Conduct general clean-up activities to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Assist in packaging material according to work instructions and work orders to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming material to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Perform quality checks during machine operation to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Complete production/productivity logs and reconcile production data to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Complete job responsibilities prioritizing safety to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Train others when required to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
- Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency.
- High school diploma/GED.
- 1 to 2 years of machine operation experience.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Basic math skills.
- Use of handheld measuring tools.
- Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metal's industry.
- Previous forklift experience.
- Computer literate.
