Job Summary
Senior Animators at Industrial Light & Magic create high-quality computer-generated animation for films and television shows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the creation of complex animation for characters and objects within a scene, using advanced software programs.
- Understand and execute direction from Lead Animators or Supervisors to ensure high-quality results.
- Supervise the work of junior and mid-level animators as needed, providing guidance and feedback.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve aesthetic goals and provide input on production decisions.
- Train and mentor new animators, as well as provide technical assistance to show supervisors.
- Maintain productivity and meet deadlines while producing high-quality work.
- Perform other tasks related to computer-generated animation, as needed.
Requirements:
- At least five years of professional experience in visual effects animation and a college degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Expert knowledge of traditional animation, acting, film production, and compositional design, with a strong portfolio and demo reel.
- Two years of experience as a mid-level animator, with recommendations for advancement.
- Excellent organization and communication skills, with proficiency in Linux and Maya software.
- Knowledge of chaining and constraint techniques.
The hiring range for this position in Vancouver is C$108,400 to C$138,800 per year, based on a 40-hour work week. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
