Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the MEP manager to develop and implement MEP system installation strategies.
  • Conduct regular audits of MEP progress drawing sets issued by consultants to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee MEP subcontractors on site to ensure timely completion and adherence to project specifications.
  • Lead commissioning and turnover efforts to ensure seamless transition to property management.
  • Work closely with the superintendent to develop and execute project logistics and temporary facility plans.
  • Review and approve shop drawings for MEP systems to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of MEP submittals, shop drawings, and installation progress.
  • Coordinate with the project manager and field staff to ensure effective communication and task completion.
  • Review and analyze MEP subcontractor billing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in site progress trade meetings and other related site events.
  • Communicate regularly with the virtual construction coordinator to resolve coordination and interference issues.
  • Monitor RFI status and facilitate closure of open RFIs related to MEP systems.
  • Review and approve site instructions issued by consultants prior to official release to trades.
  • Analyze and evaluate quotes received from MEP subcontractors for potential cost savings.
  • Monitor MEP trades' performance and report issues to site management and MEP manager.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to conduct inspections and field testing of plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between mechanical building systems components and other design disciplines.
  • Develop and implement equipment setup, testing, and commissioning procedures.
  • Lead site occupancy meetings and ensure all MEP systems are properly tested and commissioned.
  • Review and finalize MEP subcontracts close-out documents in coordination with quality assurance department.
  • Document and share lessons learned on the project with the MEP manager.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical coordination, within the construction industry high rise residential.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or equivalent preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors or in a similar role within an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) environment preferred.
  • Proven experience in supervising MEP subcontractors, reviewing shop drawings, and coordinating MEP systems during construction projects.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
