Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Clerk to join our team at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support to nursing staff, including prioritizing and processing physicians' orders, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient charts.
  • Act as a communication link for the unit, relaying messages and information to staff and patients.
  • Perform data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks to ensure accurate and efficient record-keeping.
  • Maintain timekeeping records for regular and relief staff, submitting and entering data to payroll systems.
  • Observe patient call signals and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • A current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater completed within past 48 months from a recognized institution
  • A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
  • Ability to keyboard 40 wpm
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
