Job Summary

M and J Woodcrafts Ltd. is seeking a skilled Woodworking Machine Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating computerized and manual woodworking machines to fabricate and repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate computerized and manual woodworking machines to fabricate and repair wooden parts
  • Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products
  • Operate gluing machines to glue pieces of wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces
  • Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions
  • Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
  • Replace parts as required
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and repetitive tasks
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a wood products manufacturer environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The position requires the use of safety equipment, including steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, mask, and ear plugs.
