The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team of 38 Technologists. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will perform high-quality diagnostic electrocardiographic procedures independently to assist physicians with patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct stress testing of Nuclear Cardiology patients under the supervision of a physician.
- Provide tracings of patient ECG, blood pressure, and heart rate before and during stress tests.
- Ensure adherence to CSCT and KMH protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Instruct patients on stress testing and other equipment, using proper positioning techniques and equipment settings for patient comfort and safety.
- Apply independent judgment and critical thinking during examinations to ensure accurate data capture.
- Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring examination rooms are properly supplied, equipped, and operational.
- Ensure equipment is well-maintained and in good working order, and assist in maintaining a current inventory of routine supplies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other KMH staff to support patient care.
- Attend team meetings and updates.
- Maintain continuous professional development in ECG through self-study, including attending courses or seminars.
- Completion of a recognized course in ECG.
- CSCT designation.
- 1 year of work experience is an asset.
- CPR certification.
- Experience with Holter monitor hook-ups, AMBPs, Loops is an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office (MS Word and Outlook).
- Experience with EMR systems.
- ACLS is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide coverage at both locations.
