The Role

We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team of 38 Technologists. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will perform high-quality diagnostic electrocardiographic procedures independently to assist physicians with patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct stress testing of Nuclear Cardiology patients under the supervision of a physician.
  • Provide tracings of patient ECG, blood pressure, and heart rate before and during stress tests.
  • Ensure adherence to CSCT and KMH protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Instruct patients on stress testing and other equipment, using proper positioning techniques and equipment settings for patient comfort and safety.
  • Apply independent judgment and critical thinking during examinations to ensure accurate data capture.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring examination rooms are properly supplied, equipped, and operational.
  • Ensure equipment is well-maintained and in good working order, and assist in maintaining a current inventory of routine supplies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other KMH staff to support patient care.
  • Attend team meetings and updates.
  • Maintain continuous professional development in ECG through self-study, including attending courses or seminars.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized course in ECG.
  • CSCT designation.
  • 1 year of work experience is an asset.
  • CPR certification.
  • Experience with Holter monitor hook-ups, AMBPs, Loops is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office (MS Word and Outlook).
  • Experience with EMR systems.
  • ACLS is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide coverage at both locations.
