The Role
The Veterinary Technology Program at Douglas College is a two-year diploma program that equips students with a broad set of skills to support veterinarians in clinical and research settings. Graduates are in high demand, and the program's curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the industry.
We are seeking a contract faculty member to deliver VTEC 1101 – Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology, and VTEC 2311 – Veterinary Nutrition, in the Fall 2024 semester. These courses cover essential topics relevant to practicing veterinary technologists.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students and facilitate learning in College courses.
- Evaluate student progress and provide academic advice to learners.
- Plan, organize, and manage learning activities and resources.
Requirements
- A minimum of one of the following qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited university and registration with the College of Veterinarians of BC.
- A Master's degree in conjunction with a diploma in Animal Health Technology or Veterinary Technology from an accredited program and registration with the BC Veterinary Technology Association (BCVTA).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with post-secondary teaching is an asset.
