The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cytogenetics and molecular genetics technology, with a keen interest in advancing their skills in next-generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing, and other advanced techniques.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to rotate through various laboratory testing benches, gaining comprehensive knowledge of theory and performance. Your exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail will enable you to accurately report cytogenetic findings using the International System for Human Cytogenetic Nomenclature.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Molecular and Cytogenetics procedures to aid in diagnosis and management of patients.
  • Routine test/procedure optimization, troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop new testing methods and improve existing protocols.
Requirements
  • Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certified MLT in Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics Technology (Dual License).
  • Member of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
  • Candidates eligible to write the upcoming Clinical Genetics CSMLS exam will be considered.
