About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Quality Control Laboratory Technician. This role will be responsible for supporting our laboratory in performing analysis of finished pea protein and related products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine analysis of finished and feed products according to established methods.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records through logbooks and result recording in SAP.
  • Communicate analytical data to supervisors daily as directed.
  • Analyze out-of-specification samples and communicate results to relevant parties.
  • Identify and segregate in-specification and out-of-specification products.
  • Analyze non-routine samples such as in-process samples from production, waste water, and other workshops.
  • Manage retained samples according to SOPs.
  • Assist in preparing test reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).
  • Maintain laboratory standards according to GLP norms.
  • Assist in maintaining lab inventory.
  • Prepare and manage in-house reagents.
  • Send samples to external laboratories and facilities as required.
  • Analyze inter-laboratory samples.
  • Manage lab inventory through SAP.
  • Verify and calibrate quality control and workshop laboratory equipment (daily monitoring and recording on SAP).
  • Maintain knowledge of performing maintenance on key equipment (Elementar, NIR, UV-Vis, viscosity meter, etc.).
  • Participate in yearly re-verification programs and mandatory trainings.
  • Apply provisions of the Quality Assurance system.
  • Participate in laboratory audits.
  • Follow safe work practices in laboratories and workshops, communicating safety issues and challenges regularly with the QC team.
  • Ability and willingness to work after hours and weekends.

  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • In-depth knowledge of instrumental analysis (protein analyzer, particle size analyzer, UV-VIS, NIR, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of laboratory data acquisition systems (SAP).
  • Able to perform and participate in validation of systems and processes of various protocols.
  • Able to troubleshoot equipment failures and perform routine maintenance on lab instruments.
  • Able to collect samples and prepare them for analysis.
  • Able to adhere to GMP and ISO 17025 guidelines.

Education and Experience

  • Technical diploma from a recognized college with 3 years' laboratory experience in the food or related industry.
  • B.Sc./BA in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Agriculture, or Microbiology or other relatable science degree is highly preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience working in a laboratory and performing physicochemical analysis.

Salary Range: €40,000 - €60,000 per year, depending on experience.
