- Microbiologist
- Under the direction of the QC Manager, this position will be responsible for analysis of finished product, raw material and in-process samples using wet chemistry techniques and analytical equipment’s such as Spectrophotometer, Protein Analyzer, Particle size analyzer, RVA and NIR.

**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain and follow laboratory and plant safety practices.-
- Perform analysis of finished product, raw material and in-process sample as per methods established by quality control department.-
- Extensive understanding of microbiology principles and hands-on experience including proper aseptic techniques, microbial testing, plate counting, subculturing, and staining techniques-
- Experience with DNA extraction and performing quantitative real-time PCR assays-
- Strong ability to read and understand operating manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs)-
- Communicate out of specification issues to Quality Control Manager and the Head of Quality for immediate corrective and preventative action.-
- Collect and analyze samples from plant production workshops or plant facility, as required.-
- Order, retain and maintain positive controls for pathogens under strict conditions.-
- Experience in operating autoclave and performing decontamination of microbial waste-
- Calibrate and maintain all laboratory equipment in the quality control laboratories.-
- Participate in training program provided by global QC.-
- Strategically manage retained samples based on established SOPs.-
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, housekeeping standards and follow food safety procedures.-
- Execute validation and comparison studies as per management requests.-
- Assist in innovation projects.-
- Perform analysis on ILC samples and record results in appropriate platform.-
- Document results using batch records, calibration logbooks, and excel files and SAP.-
- Record test results to ensure in-specification and out-of-specification (OOS) products are clearly identified and segregated.-
- Contribute to improve and optimize laboratory efficiency-
- Management of lab inventory through SAP-
- Ability and willingness to work after hours and weekend, if neededCROSS FUNCTIONAL
- Laboratory stock solutions and supplies- Manage procurement and inventory of consumables, laboratory chemicals, small equipment and reagents.-
- Ensure traceability of consumables and laboratory chemicals.Provide technical assistance to production:
- Propose and develop analytical methods.-
- Perform on site record check / verification regarding equipment calibration and ensure methods are followed as per SOP.-
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects.Security / Safety- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, protection of people and the environment.-
- Participate in improving laboratory safety.-
- Ensure that storage and reagents are in a locked cabinet and cleanliness of laboratory equipment is maintained.Communication- Communicate analytical data to Laboratory Manager and production supervisors daily or as directed.-
- Ensure that safe work practices are followed in the laboratory.-
- Discuss and consult quality control issues and challenges with Laboratory Manager.-
- Communicate and coordinate daily on matters regarding progress, delays product availability, and OOS status.**Qualifications**:
- Education: Technical diploma from a recognized college coupled with 3-5 years’ laboratory experience in the food or related industry.-
- B.Sc. / BA in Food Science, Biology, Agriculture or Microbiology or other relatable science degree is highly preferred.-
- Experience: 5 years of experience required working in a laboratory and performing physic-chemical analysis.-
- Specific requirements: Troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.-
