We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fisheries Scientist to lead our team in ecological studies focused on fisheries and aquatic resources. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing studies, summarizing and analyzing data, and presenting results to clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of ecological studies focused on fisheries and aquatic resources.
  • Summarize and analyze data to draw conclusions on environmental conditions and use these results with inference to scientific literature to make defensible conclusions about the status of the environment and the potential effects of anticipated natural and anthropogenic influences.
  • Document results in written reports and present to clients, regulators, Indigenous groups, and stakeholders as part of regulatory and approval processes.
  • Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, taking the lead on specific tasks, taking direction on others, and collaborating with colleagues to maximize work productivity and quality.
Requirements
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in aquatic or fisheries science.
  • R.P.Bio. or eligible.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a team in the environmental consulting sector.
  • Effective analytical and technical editing and review skills, and ability to ensure delivery of high quality reports and proposals.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, excellence, and ethics.
  • Experience in the mining sector an asset.
