Job Title: Head of Mapping

At Socotra, Inc., we're revolutionizing the way people move around the world. Our mission is to create a seamless and efficient transportation experience for all. We're seeking a visionary leader to join our team as the Head of Mapping.

The Head of Mapping will be responsible for guiding our mapping platform to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient navigation and routing for millions of rides every year. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a clear product vision and strategy for our mapping platform.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to define technical capabilities and prioritize projects.
  • Manage and inspire a team of high-performing engineers and product managers.
  • Drive close cross-functional collaboration to deliver engineering excellence.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Lyft leadership to drive company-wide workstreams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 14+ years of experience in software engineering, product management, or technical leadership, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and growing a high-performing team of engineers.
  • Ability to remain flexible and thrive in ambiguity.
