About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Pathologist to join our team in Campbell River. As an Anatomical Pathologist, you will work with a team in the hospital environment, sharing knowledge and collaborating to provide broad coverage. Extra training or interest in Dermatopathology or GI pathology is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Surgical Pathology (including Frozen Sections/Intraoperative Consultations), Cytology, and hospital autopsy services.
  2. Grossing of all Level 3 surgical specimens and working with and providing oversight and guidance to operational staff grossing Levels 1 & 2.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Fellowship in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or its equivalent) and obtain full licensure in the province of British Columbia, as well as CMPA coverage. Subspecialty expertise and previous experience will be considered favourable assets.

Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary, with an estimated annual salary range of $250,000-$300,000 depending on experience. The North Island Campbell River Hospital is a regional referral centre for a population of approximately 40,000, offering a broad range of consultants and a dynamic work environment.
