Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Recreation Worker to join our team at the City of Regina. As a Recreation Worker, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating diverse and inclusive sport, culture, and recreation activities for children and youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare facilities, set up and take down equipment, and supervise facilities for scheduled bookings, programs, and special events.
  • Monitor the building and ensure a safe and efficient operation of equipment, programs, and facilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service and be a positive role model for children and youth.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and exercise initiative and good judgment when completing work assignments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and contribute to a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR Level 'C' or St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid & CPR Level 'C' certification.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, instruct, and evaluate program activities.
  • Proven customer service skills and ability to be a positive role model for children and youth.
  • Dependable and reliable with the means to travel within the City.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year post-secondary education in Kinesiology, Education, or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Experience working with children and youth in a recreation or education setting.
