Teaching Position

The Near North District School Board is seeking a qualified teacher to fill a Long-Term Occasional (LTO) position in Grade 6. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and supporting the academic and social development of students in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and develop curriculum-based lessons for Grade 6 students
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
- Develop and implement strategies to support student literacy and numeracy skills
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver whole-school initiatives
- Utilize technology to enhance student learning and communication with guardians
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
- Valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers
- Junior Qualifications
- Knowledge of Ministry Curriculum and Assessment documents
- Demonstrated experience with Apple-based software and mobile devices
- Evidence of understanding of varied learners with a focus on 'at-risk' students
- Evidence of supporting Literacy and Numeracy from a whole-school perspective
- Evidence of integration of technology for the documentation and evaluation of student work
- Ability to work as part of a school team and to communicate effectively
