Job Title: Search and Rescue Technician

At IMP Aerospace and Defence, we are seeking a skilled and ambitious Search and Rescue Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing first and second line aircraft maintenance on the Cormorant Helicopter under the guidance and supervision of journeyperson technicians, in support of our Canadian Search and Rescue operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct On Job Experience (OJE) and On Job Training (OJT) for Servicing Tasks, Elementary Tasks, and Work, including aircraft documentation, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing, and certification of aircraft mechanical, structural, and electrical systems and components and ground support equipment.
  • Ramp duties will include pre/post flight inspection and support, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installation/removal of required mission equipment and crash and salvage response.
  • Travel and work at other main operating bases, deployments in support of operations at remote sites, mobile repair parties, and ferry flights.
  • Attend training at various locations for apprentice development, trade, airworthiness, and personnel development, and for qualification/certification and recurrent training purposes.
  • Perform other tasks as required from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a recognized college basic aircraft maintenance program or equivalent Canadian Armed Forces basic aircraft maintenance program.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints, and Standard Plant Procedures.
  • Ability to use standard computer programs and specialized ones as necessary in the performance of duties.
  • Able to drive vehicles and tow tractors and operate motorized aircraft maintenance support equipment.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program.
