Executive Director, Nurse Practitioners

The Executive Director, Nurse Practitioners is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the Nurse Practitioner (NP) portfolio at Northern Health Authority. The incumbent will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to advance the NP scope of practice, promote inter-professional practice, and drive quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior leadership and direction to the NP portfolio, integrating practice and operational responsibilities.
- Lead NP strategic planning, including ongoing oversight of NP leadership and operational structures.
- Collaborate with other executives and senior leaders on strategic planning, quality, and clinical transformation initiatives.
- Liaise with external healthcare and government organizations to advance NP scope of practice and promote quality care.
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner, plus ten years of recent related progressively senior clinical leadership experience.
- Experience in leading professional practice, program management, change management, or strategic initiative development and implementation.
- Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a Nurse Practitioner.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Possesses understanding of provincial legislation, health statutes, and regulations pertaining to patient care, safety, and quality.
- Demonstrated understanding of role in advancing NH's commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and initiatives for Truth and Reconciliation.
- Knowledge of current and future healthcare issues that impact the designated portfolio.
- Demonstrated knowledge of structures and leadership roles to support patient-centred frameworks.
