Water Distribution Systems Specialist

**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Distribution Operator to join our team at the City of Guelph. As a key member of our Water Services Division, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our drinking water network.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Operate and maintain the City's Class IV Water Distribution System, ensuring compliance with policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on all portions of the system, including equipment and appurtenances.
  • Communicate effectively with Lead Hands and Supervisors to discuss items of interest or concern.
  • Respond to water distribution calls and provide advice to customers in a professional manner.

**Requirements:**

  • Completion of a Grade 12 Diploma and 2 years' post-secondary education in engineering, environmental science, or an operationally related discipline.
  • 6-12 months' experience in water-related environments or working with related equipment and performing maintenance duties.
  • Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) Operator in Training (OIT) Certificate for Water Distribution, with the ability to obtain the Class IV Water Distribution (WD) Certificate.
