About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Worker, Building to join our team at Anderson Blake Security Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including making adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contacting tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Coordinate with contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances, maintaining their optimal performance and extending their lifespan.
  • Conduct regular safety and security checks, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, demonstrating physical stamina and dexterity.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs, such as painting and drywall repair, to maintain the establishment's appearance and integrity.
  • Work with minimal supervision, demonstrating independence and self-motivation.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, ensuring timely replenishment and optimal stock levels.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons, providing support and expertise as needed.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in various locations, including indoor and outdoor settings, and be willing to relocate as required.
  • Handle heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks, demonstrating physical endurance and stamina.
  • Work in all weather conditions, adapting to changing environmental factors.
  • Bend, crouch, and kneel regularly, maintaining flexibility and mobility.
Personal Qualities and Skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and judgement in decision-making.
  • Be organized, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and contractors.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 35 hours per week, permanent position.
