Career Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our Ottawa team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing estimates for electrical construction projects and providing technical support to project operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, engineers, and contractors in the industry.
  • Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects based on contract drawings and specifications.
  • Establish and maintain tendering processes, cost monitoring, reporting systems, and procedures.
  • Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects regarding tenders.
  • Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, and tender hand-offs.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in material and equipment purchasing for secure jobs.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • A College Diploma in Construction or Engineering Technology or a University Degree in Engineering, or relevant education background.
  • Experience in the electrical trade may substitute for education requirements.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience with electrical construction projects.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of scheduling, planning, and execution.
  • Cost Estimating
  • Established electrical practices, procedures, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent ability to think critically and problem solve.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
