About the Role

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a skilled Road Technician (Heavy Duty) to join our team. As a proud supporter of hiring Military Veterans, we promote a diverse, inspired, supported, empowered workforce.

This role performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs at the customer's location equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Our specialty lines locations may have a fleet of large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas-related equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and diesel engines
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Develop new skills for a career track in service operation management
  • Participate in our on-call rotation and work in the shop when there are no field calls

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired
  • 1 to 3 years of Technician experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment strongly preferred
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
