At North York General Hospital, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of respiratory therapy. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team in the Medicine / Respirology Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care and promote a culture of excellence.
  • Provide ventilation management, weaning, and discontinuation services to adult, pediatric, and newborn patients.
  • Participate in Code Teams and Critical Care Response Teams to ensure timely and effective response to critical situations.
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitation as needed.
  • Administer pharmaceutical substances and perform related diagnostic tests, including arterial blood gas analysis and bronchoscopies.
  • Supervise, teach, and evaluate students as assigned by clinical coordinator.
  • Develop and implement educational programs to promote respiratory care best practices.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Experience in adult intubation and radial arterial line insertion.
  • Membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the Respiratory Therapists Society of Ontario (RTSO) preferred.
